April 5 Gatlinburg Gateway Triathlon The second annual triathlon at the Community Center starts at 8;15 a.m. and is open to anyone 15 years and older capable of swimming one-half mile, biking 20 kilometers, and running 5 kilometers consecutively. Awards will be given in eleven age catagories. Pre-register is required. 436-4990.

April 23-27 58th Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage Enjoy the beauty of Great Smoky Mountains National park with over 170 different programs, including hiking tours, motorcades, demonstrations and classroom lectures on the flowers, plants and wildlife in the great outdoors.
May 16 Gatlinburg Scottish Festival Grand Parade Kick-of to the 27th Annual Gatlinburg Scottish Festival and Games. Parade begins at 6:00 p.m. at traffic light #10, Downtown Gatlinburg.
May 17 and 18 Gatlinburg Scottish Festival and Games 27th Annual Scottish clans meeting; featuring Highland athletics, bagpipe competitions, Highland dancing, border collie demonstrations, haggis hurling, entertainment and whiskey tasting, along with food and merchandise vendors. May 17 and 18 Gatlinburg's Fine Arts Festival A family oriented fine arts festival featuring juried artists from around the country, delicious cuisine and music. Proceeds benefit the Arrowmont School of Art and the Sevier County Arts Council. Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and River Road.
June 1-8 Smoky Mountain Springfest Gatlinburg comes alive as the city streets burst with baskets of beautiful blooms and flowing bulbs.
June 13 - August 9 Smoky mountain Tunes and Tales All summer long visitors can meet characters, hear mountain music and learn about the wildlife and plant life of the Smoky Mountains on the streets of Gatlinburg. Storytellers, musicians and cloggers perform at different locations along the Parkway every evening.
June 13-15 Living History Civil War Reenactment at Mills Park Features period performers in Civil War camp along with the recreation of the "Battle of Burg Hill" and historical portrayals.
July 3 4th of July Midnight Parade 33rd Annual "First July Fourth Parade in the Nation!" Parade starts at 12:01 a,. July 4th on the Parkway.
July 4 River Raft Regatta Enjoy a fun, unmanned, floatable object race for the whole family. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Aquarium of the Smokies. Race begins at noon and ends at the Aquarium bridge where prizes will be awarded in several different categories. Free registration.
July 4 4th of July Fireworks Show Join us to celebrate our nation's Independence Day with a magnificent fireworks show. Gatlinburg will light up the mountain skyline at 10 p.m. with this spectacular show on the Parkway.
July 18-27 Gatlinburg's Craftsmen's Fair at Gatlinburg Convention Center. Arts, crafts and music lovers can find over 200 booths featuring some of the nation's finest work. Artisans and craftspeople are on hand to demonstrate their skills, answer questions and offer their unique art for sale. Live Country and Bluegrass entertainment. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. September 1 - November 30 Old Fashioned Hayrides Enjoy a unique hayride with family and friends through downtown Gatlinburg. Departure is from traffic light #6 at Mountain mall from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, leaving approximately every 45 minutes.
September 11 Library Luau Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies host its third annual fall fundraiser benefitting Anna Porter Public Library at 5:30 PM. Entertainment and refreshments included. 436-5588.

September 20 Great Gatlinburg Shark Race Festivities start at Ripley's Plaza with live entertainment, food and fun and opportunity to win fantastic grand prizes. Rubber sharks are released into the Little Pigeon River, first one to cross the finish line wins! Proceeds benefit United Way of Sevier County. 436-4261
September 21 Gatlinburg Run for the Hills 10K Road Race This demanding sanctioned course begins and ends in the early morning in downtown and includes challenge of Dudley Creek Bypass, ending at Mynatt park.

November 5 - February 29 Gatlinburg Winter Magic The City of Gatlinburg magically lights up the winter nights with over three million spectacular lights.
November 5 - December 30 Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights Enjoy a guided trolley tour of Gatlinburg's spectacular Gatlinburg Winter Magic lighting displays. Departure is from the Ripley's Aquarium Trolley Station. Group reservation are available. Trolley leaves at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30.
November 5 Gatlinburg Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff The City of Gatlinburg kicks off Gatlinburg Winter Magic from 5 to 8 pm by turning on over three million lights including new displays making their debut in 2008. For a small donation, sample chili recipes from local restaurants and businesses and vote for your favorite. Live entertainment fireworks display. Downtown Gatlinburg.

Enjoy lighted floats, marching bands, equestrian units and giant helium balloons. Parade begins at 7:30 p.m. at Traffic Light #1A and continues through downtown to Traffic Light #10.
